    • Wintertime fun includes alpine and cross-county skiing, back country skiing, horse drawn sleigh rides, snowmobiling and more. Popular festivals in the winter months include: Country in the Rockies - last week in January, U.S. Extreme Freeskiing Contest - last week in February and the U.S. Extreme Boarderfest - 1st week in March. Summertime visitors will enjoy the close proximity to hiking and mountain biking trails, fishing, rafting and horseback riding. Popular summertime festivals include: Fat Tire Bike Week - last week in June, Wildflower Festival - 2nd week in July, Crested Butte Music Festival - all of July and theFestival of the Arts - first weekend in August.
